Money.Net

From Fintech Startup to Bloomberg Terminal Disruptor.

Project details.

Brandstyle was hired to launch Money.Net, a financial data platform run by Bloomberg’s former Global Head of Commodities, Morgan Downey. In an industry dominated for three decades by the omnipresent Bloomberg and Reuters terminals, we were tasked with positioning Money.Net as a true competitor in the eyes of potential users, who were used to the convenience and reliability of the existing - albeit antiquated - systems.

With an understanding of Money.Net’s goals and objectives, Brandstyle developed a three-tiered communications strategy to launch the platform using an approach that prioritized earned media, thought leadership and awards. Because Money.Net was looking to compete with industry heavyweights, it was critical for the company to featured in all news related to those businesses, in order to bolster brand recognition by Money.Net’s target customers.

Our earned media strategy, targeting top-tier business, technology and general news publications, led to a consistent drumbeat of national and regional online, print and broadcast media coverage on behalf of Money.Net and reached well over 460 million unique visitors between 2016 and 2017 alone. Feature stories, which included headlining pieces in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, Fortune, Crain’s, Institutional Investor, CNBC, The New York Post, CHEDDAR and The Financial Times, drove brand awareness among industry K.O.L.’s and potential customers, as well as significant increases in product sales. Money.Net also won a Forbes FinTech 50 Award and the FIA Innovator of the Year Award, among other industry awards and accolades.

The results.
