Locus Robotics Raises $150 Million at a $1 Billion Valuation, Reaching ‘Unicorn’ Status

As the pandemic accelerates the need for companies to ship more goods faster, Locus aims to increase the volume of products a company can ship out of a warehouse by pairing robots with humans. The robots — which use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies — can reduce the total distance a warehouse worker walks during a shift by up to 80%.

The push for automation to increase efficiency and handle surging demand has only increased during Covid-19. With the new funding, Locus Robotics intends to expand its global operations, including to Asia, and to continue to invest in research and development to add new features and functionality.
